Issues of diagnosis, compensation and prevention of asbestos-related diseases will be discussed on November 4, 2011 at an afternoon information session to be held by the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers (OHCOW) in Toronto.

UK Asbestos Legal Conference
On November 10, 2011, a conference entitled "Managing risks in the new Jackson era" is being held in Manchester by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. The agenda features presentations from legal, medical and technical experts including Senior Master Steven Whitaker, Dr. Richard Attanoos, Dr. Phil Barber, Patrick Walsh, Ruth Davies, Stephen Glynn and David Short. Philadelphia lawyer Marc Weingarten will be discussing developments in the United States. The asbestos conference being organized by the London Hazards Centre (LHC) on November 18, 2011 will examine relevant issues for Londoners relating to occupational and environmental asbestos exposures. Delegates will be addressed by speakers with expertise on trade union rights, asbestos victims' support and asbestos removal legislation and practices. The session will take place at 34 Great Smith Street, Westminster SW1P 3BU; tickets cost £20 but entry is free to victims and family members.

Asbestos Insurance Conference
Asbestos and Latent Claims is the title of a one-day conference being held in central London on December 14, 2011. The sessions, most of which focus on issues relevant to insurance and reinsurance specialists could also be of interest to claimants' legal professionals. Speakers from the UK insurance industry's Asbestos Working Party, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Deloitte and Clifford Chance will discuss trends in Asbestos Claims in the UK and Europe, developments in US Torts law, EL Trigger litigation in the context of evolving asbestos case law and what the future holds for asbestos insurers and reinsurers.
